About
Welcome to Nature’s Nurture – a blog about everything simple, natural, and homemade.
Nature’s Nurture was officially launched in September 2011. It’s a place to document the changes our family is making to slowly convert our home into a more natural, sustainable, toxin-free environment. It also serves as a resource for others looking for simple ways to take small steps towards a more eco-friendly lifestyle.
Our philosophy can be summed up in just a few words:
- Natural
- Frugal
- Sustainable
- Homemade
Everything on Nature’s Nurture fits into any, or all, of these philosophies. From household cleaners to personal care products; real food recipes to kitchen tips – our goal is to share with you the little things we learn along the way on our journey to a greener home.
Thank you for coming along for the ride; we hope you find it as fun and exciting as we do!
Meet Sarah
Hi! I’m Sarah, owner and author of Nature’s Nurture.
I’m on a mission: To rid our home of all chemical, processed, or otherwise unsustainable products, one item at a time. I’m a big fan of baby steps and that’s how I’m tackling this. If I can inspire just one person to make one simple change in their life, then the world is a better place
I’m a licensed school teacher turned happy homemaker, wife to Mr. Nurture and a new mama to our little Monkey. I love the natural world and believe that the solutions to the world’s ailments lie in nature – hence, Nature’s Nurture!
I like to live my life by one of my favorite quotes,
“Live simply so that others may simply live.”
I’m a lover of all things practical and conventional – I’d rather make things at home using tried-and-true methods, than spend extra money only to bring toxic chemicals into my home or body.
I was recently given the Kreativ Blogger Award, and as part of it, I shared with my readers 7 interesting facts about myself. The list below is just a summary; if you want to know more, just click here to read the full post.
- I’m a licensed teacher, but will be homeschooling our children
- I had a 100% natural, unmedicated birth
- I’m a hoarder in recovery
- Mr. Nurture and I are Americans living in Canada
- I’m a Muslim, and wear a headscarf
- We are saving for our (atypical) dream house
- Mr. Nurture is a web developer, so I know a few things about creating websites
Thanks for stopping by and following me on my journey to the simple life!
