A couple of weeks ago, I shared on my Facebook page and Instagram feed that I’ve finally taken the plunge and picked up some kale at the store. I don’t know why it had taken me so long – what was I so afraid of? The taste? The texture? Mehh, I was just being a baby. And in my infantile state, I asked you, my wonderful readers, for your favorite ways to eat kale.
Man, the response was absolutely amazing! Over the next few days, we had a huge thread on Facebook with all sorts of yummy sounding treats and entrees that use this wonderfully nutritious leafy green!

Guess what? Tiny Tip Tuesday is back!! Well, sort of… I miss sharing my tiny tips with you every week, but I’m not sure if I’m ready to start up the link party again just yet. And I’m not even sure if Tiny Tip Tuesday will actually be every Tuesday either, but for now, whenever I’ve got a great tip to share with you, it’ll be posted on Tuesday for your viewing pleasure.
We just got back from visiting family down in Florida for a couple weeks, and although I thought we’d completely emptied our fridge before leaving, I was surprised to come back and find 2 lonely eggs still in their carton in my fridge door. I contemplated whether or not to throw them out, but then I remembered reading a while ago that you can actually do a quick test to see if your eggs are still good to eat.

Happy Tuesday, everyone! Hope everyone made it through the crazy weekend in one piece and your week is off to a great start!
Today’s tip is about bananas. Yes, even though it’s almost December, I’m still buying bananas fairly regularly – I know, shame on me! Hey, we’ve all got our weaknesses…
Last week, the bananas were pretty unripe, and I remembered reading about ways to ripen bananas a while ago. The one that kept popping up was placing them in a bag with another fruit to help speed up the process…
Happy Tuesday, dear friends! Hope all is well in your neck of the woods!
The weather is really starting to dip into the lower temps here, and winter is well on it’s way – so excited!

In case you haven’t heard yet, I’m now contributing to Healthy Planet Canada‘s new healthy living blog! Healthy Planet is actually my local organic store (they have 7 locations + a couple more soon!), and I was more than honored when they asked me to begin contributing to their blog. So every week, twice a week, I’ll be writing for them about green, healthy living, and eco-friendly topics! And don’t worry, you won’t miss a thing (as long as you’re subscribed to my weekly newsletter, or following me on Facebook), because I’m posting excerpts of my posts right here on Nature’s Nurture, which will lead you over to Healthy Planet’s blog for the complete article.
Also, my “Blogiversary” Giveaway Celebration is back and will continue through to the end of the year! So be sure to check every Wednesday for my latest giveaway! This week, we’re giving away a copy of my new favorite ebook, Meal Planning Made Simple, by my friend, Merissa, from Little House Living. And now for our Tiny Tip of the week!
We make lots of smoothies around here – everyday actually. So there’s no shortage of dirty blenders around here, and when you use the blender that often, two things happen: 1- your blender manages to find a permanent home on your already over-crowded kitchen counter; and 2- you develop a hatred for cleaning the blender (who wants to keep disassembling and reassembling that thing on a daily basis?!). So, I came across this post on LifeHacker a few weeks ago and have been using this tip ever since!
OMG you guys, I just discovered the most amazing thing I’ve seen in a really long time! The second I heard about this, I went and tried it immediately! And when it worked like a charm, I knew exactly what I would share with you this week on Tiny Tip Tuesday!
Enter this list of 22 things you’re doing wrong that I ran across on Facebook last week. It’s a pretty cool list actually, if you want to check it out.
But the thing that stuck out the most to me was the tip on slicing those small cherry/grape tomatoes. If you’re like me, you’ve been slicing those babies one by one, and never even thought twice about it – so I’m here to tell you, we’ve been doing it wrong all along!
