If you’re like me, you’re always on the lookout for natural, organic skincare products that are not only safe, but effective as well. I make a lot of our body care products at home, but there’s a good handful of products that I still buy from small, handcrafted companies that I know and trust. I also get lots of questions about which brands I recommend, so I’m always interested in learning about companies that can provide safe, organic products for the whole family.
When House Blend Organics asked me to try some of their products, I happily agreed after looking through their website and loving what I saw. House Blend started when one mama had to find a way to soother her baby’s eczema. This is something I can totally relate to because not only have I had to manage my toddler’s eczema, I also started Nature’s Nurture while I was pregnant with my son and searching for natural products.
House Blend Organics Review
House Blend’s products are good for mamas, babies, and everyone in between. All of their products are USDA-certified 100% organic, vegan, gluten-free, and made in the USA. Each of their products dons the name of a family member who’s inspired them along the way (ie: Baby Brooklyn’s Coconut Wash), which I think is just too cute. π
I received a lovely package for review, which included their Coconut Body Wash, Lullaby Lavender Balm, Eucalyptus Chest Rub, and their two Lip Balms in mint and orange. They also came with a cute little fabric tote bag, which was a nice touch.
By far, my favorite product is their coconut body wash – that stuff smells so good, I literally wanted to eat it! It’s a creamy body wash and is so gentle and hydrating, which is great for my son’s eczema-prone skin. This is their best-selling product, and it’s easy to see why!
I loved both the lavender and eucalyptus balms as well. The lavender balm is great for getting the kids to wind down at the end of a busy day, and I even use it on myself too when I need to relax before bed. I just rub some on the bottoms of their feet, put some socks over them, and by the end of story time, we’re calm enough to drift off to dreamland. The balm itself is very soothing too – I used it on some rough spots on my eczema-prone skin and loved how soft it made my hands feel. I’m also kind of obsessed with the scent of lavender, so that helped. π
I almost thought I wouldn’t get a chance to really test out the eucalyptus rub, but sure enough last week both kids and the hubby came down with a cold and had some pretty bad congestion. Dare I say I was kind of excited because I got to try a new product on them all? π The eucalyptus rub is so much better than the vapor rub you can by at the store which contains petrolatum and can have a very overpowering smell. This rub actually has a nice, pleasant scent. My kids and husband didn’t mind it all, and it was actually quite soothing for them. I started using it on them the second night of their cold, and I definitely noticed a difference in their ability to get to sleep and stay asleep without waking up because they couldn’t breathe. This stuff is a keeper!
I used to be a lip balm fanatic, but then I ditched all those store-bought balms because of the nasty ingredients they contained. So when I find a natural lip balm that I like, I stick to it – and House Blend’s organic lip balms are definitely on my list of yummy lip balms. They go on so smoothly, which is something I’ve noticed is kind of hard to find in the world of organic lip balms. The orange lip balm is delicious! I’d never tried an orange lip balm before and I didn’t think I’d like it, but it really smells amazing. I wasn’t a big fan of the mint lip balm, but I’ve never really liked mint flavored anything.
I’m very impressed with House Blend Organic’s truly safe, effective, and organic line of skincare products. They have a nice variety of products for everyone in the family. You can purchase them separately or you can check out their bundled products which would make great gifts. They offer free shipping (US only) for orders over $75, and they also have a pretty good return/exchange policy, which I think is always important. They do offer international shipping options, so just contact them to get a custom shipping quote if you’re shipping outside of the US.
