Eczema is a topic that’s become very near and dear to my heart over the past year. Since our son, Yusuf, was diagnosed with eczema early last year, it’s been a long journey of treatment, healing and management. Along the way, I’ve learned a lot about the condition, as well as some of the best ways to control eczema. And thankfully, we’ve been doing very well, with the exception of a few flare-ups here and there.
What I wish I’d had when I was starting out on this journey is a one-stop shop for all things eczema – a place that I could go to explore all the different products and treatment options available for this new (to me) skin condition.
Until a few months ago, I didn’t know if a place like this was possible, let alone if it actually existed. Turns out, it does exist, and it’s called The Eczema Company!
I was contacted by the lovely Jennifer from The Eczema Company because she’d seen my post on managing my son’s eczema, and she could relate because she’d gone through the same battle with her own son as well. She started the company to help others who are dealing with the daily challenges of managing eczema. Her family tried several different products and have made their favorites available in their online store.
The Eczema Company Review
The Eczema Company carries a whole range of products including bath and body care, health supplements, clothing and jewelry, books, and products for the home. Just think of them as a curator of all the best products to help you in battling the challenges of all things eczema. They even have a very useful blog with just about the cutest name ever – It’s an Itchy Little World. 🙂
Jennifer recommended a few products for us to try: Emily Baby and Adult Skin Soother, Emily Skin Soothing Soap, and the Oatmeal Cookie Bath Soak.
The Emily Skin Soother is definitely a favorite around here. We’ve tried several creams and balms over the past year, and both my son and I agree that this is the best cream for his flare-ups. He had a really bad, stubborn flare-up this past Winter due to the cold, dry weather, and this cream was a life saver. On several occasions, he literally said, “Ahh, feels better” as I was putting it on him. I’ll also add that it’s the first time that we’ve ever come so close to finishing a cream – I have to order more soon to keep on hand! I’ve even used it on my own eczema-prone hands this season and can attest to how well it works at moisturizing and soothing the dry, itchy skin.
The Emily Skin Soother also has a matching Soothing Soap. I have to say that when Yusuf gets a flare-up, there’s pretty much no soap that I can use on his skin that won’t make him flinch in pain. So I resort to not using any soap at all and just bathing him with a wet wash cloth. I was hesitant to try this Emily soap on him and proceeded with caution. Surprisingly, he didn’t even notice I was using soap and never complained of it hurting or burning. This soap (and the rest of the Emily line of products) gets a huge thumbs up from me. 🙂
The Oatmeal Cookie Bath Soak was fun to try. Yusuf is very used to oatmeal baths, but this one had a few extra special ingredients included: calendula, chamomile, and marshmallow leaf. These gave the soak some extra soothing and healing powers, and made it smell so heavenly. It also comes with a cute muslin pouch that you can just throw into the bath so the oatmeal doesn’t get all over the tub. Of course Yusuf didn’t allow that, and he just dumped the oatmeal right into the tub so he could watch it float around. 😉
I’m so very impressed with the mission and purpose behind The Eczema Company. The products I tried are of great quality, and I can tell that they were carefully chosen to be included in their store. I’m so glad to have that magical place that I can go to now if I need anything for my son’s eczema flare-ups.
The Eczema Company ships to both the US and Canada and offers free shipping on orders of $75 or more. Some of their other products that I may try include:
- Natural Sunscreens for eczema and sensitive skin
- Tallow Balm and Tallow Soap
- Soap Nuts
- On The Spot eczema stick

My son has extremely severe eczema, since he was 2 months old. It’s been a horrible ride and anything I can do to make him feel better, I’ll try it!
My son suffers from eczema esp in the hot summer months.. I’m always looking for a product that works but I love natural products so this is awesome
My adorable little granddaughters have eczema and I would love to find something that works so they can have smooth arms and legs!
My toddler son has it pretty bad behind the knees, elbows, and on his feet. We ordered a hazelwood necklace from the Eczema Company and he has not taken it off. We love the oatmeal soak baths and want to try Emily’s next!
Sure wish I had some right now for my daughter!
Two of my kids battle with eczema. Nothing helps much unless I put it on constantly… and they fight me on it. My husband has eczema and psoriasis too.
I had eczema on my hands 30 years ago that itched terribly that I would scratch in my sleep and wake up with blood on the sheets, and I could not get rid of the eczema. I went to doctors (dermatologists included) and all I heard was cortisone shots. I didn’t go back and dealt with it for about 3 years. I ran into someone that did a lot of holistic remedies and she told me to use a little touch of vaseline and activated charcoal at night with cotton gloves. I did this for about a week and every day was better. I couldn’t believe it – my eczema was gone. I would have minor flare ups from time to time (especially the first 5 years after) and I would only need this treatment for one night.
My 14 yr old son suffers from eczema and sometimes it’s very bad. He has suffered from it since he was a baby. When I adopted him he had eczema so bad that his face was a red mass and scaly. The poor baby was miserable! We found out it was due to a milk allergy, but he still gets it around his waist now and then, even though he doesn’t eat any dairy. He has very sensitive skin. It would be great to have something to put on the rash when it does occur. So far nothing has helped much. I also have very itchy patches on my legs and nothing seems to relieve that either.
I have horrible skin. What’s worse is that I have pretty much just given up. Which has NOT helped. My skin all around my hairline, my scalp, my eyebrows, the skin along my mouth, is all cracked dry and gross. Now I just wear a hat when I go out that covers the worst areas. I would love to try something to get on top of this 🙂 Thanks.
My husband has had eczema since he was very young and has tried many products some with and some without success. I have recently started developing eczema patches and I am looking for good products to use also.
My children, ages 3.5 and 10 months, both suffer from eczema and I am also developing dry itchy patches. I cringe at the thought of having to use strong steroid creams on their delicate skin and hope the products from The Eczema Store can help me avoid them.
At age 50 I started developing or getting eczema. It really weird and it itch and hurts like crazy. I finally mixed some tee tea and lavender with a bit of sweet almond oil to apply to the area behind my ears. This blog is a great find…thanks!
Eczema runs in my family so when I developed it 2 years ago, I wasn’t surprised. However I have HATED these dry itchy little patches that pop up and hate to leave. They’re not attractive and I’d love to win this giveaway!
I would love to win this! My 8 month old had been dealing with eczema a month after he was born. He loves taking baths so much but we have to keep them short due to it getting worse. I feel so bad for him.
Aww poor baby. I hope he can find some much needed relief soon 🙂
Thank goodness! Ways to combat eczema naturally! I hope I win the give-a-way so I can try these wonderful product.
I have eczema on my hands that flairs up with dishwashing, kid washing, and when I’m cutting up fruits and veggies. My daughter (4 months at the time) developed a horrible rash on her diaper area, stomach, and face and when treated with a steroid cream it went away. It still flairs up in the diaper area since that is hard to keep dry. I would love products that aren’t prescription steroid creams for her and me!
Our stories are very similar, Corina, so I’m sympathizing with you and your daughter. Best of luck!
